Summer Blues

You'd think that I would be relishing a whole summer off. No work. No mornings earlier than I want them to be. No stressful children to deal with at school. Well, this is me: I'm longing for accomplishments born out of hard work and a night where I feel exhausted from real, physical labor. That's why, right now, I can't wait to be in India. The unknowns about our stay there can be a little unnerving, but seeing the faces of the children and knowing that I will be in the frontlines helping them makes me smile. I want God to use me.

I heard from Jacob yesterday. It seems that the Indian Embasy, although very prompt in letting us know they had received our application, is not very quick in responding to phone calls. Jacob keeps calling but hasn't been able to talk to the right person yet. Visas are a complicated business.

I hope we can get it all ironed out soon. The thought of another month in limbo is difficult to swallow.
