Know to believe vs. knowing

It is said that if we "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ" we will be saved.  (Acts 16:31)  We seem to take this and similar declarations as an imperative to declare the fact to others; however, this may not be helpful.  It is not in knowing how salvation works but in actually trusting Jesus that we are saved.  Faith, belief, trust: these are not conceived by a comma

I Can Breathe

    For the past three and a half months I have been battling a monster that has been raging inside of me and seemingly having it's way with my body.  It has no name, I don't know where it came from, and so far, there is nothing that seems to be able to destroy it.

Journey to the Taw't Deram

As the appointed departure date drew closer, I found myself unable to sleep well as I was always thinking about what might happen when we made our epic journey to the Taw't Deram, the feared cannibals of Palawan. Not sure if I was more concerned about being AMONG the Taw't Deram or more concerned about how we were going to GET to the Taw't Deram, I was restless and prayerful.

I recently read the book Science's Blind Spot: The Unseen Religion of Scientific Naturalism by Cornelius Hunter, and it was an enlightening experience.

I came across this article on CNN just a few minutes ago.  I thought this was an exceptional use of the internet for helping people in need.    Maybe this is also the answer to keeping more government out of our lives.  What a great idea.
