We finally have a date. . .

We are closer than ever to leaving to go to El Salvador.  It has been a bit of a rollercoaster.  On Wednesday we found out that the insurance we applied for was approved for me but not for Crissy.  We were a bit shocked and frustrated.  It took several weeks to get through this process and now we would start over again!  A few more weeks.. . . a few more weeks. . . somehow that fit the patter of our lives.  Insurance was the last thing we needed before we buy tickets.  We thought we were so close, but now we had to wait longer.  Why wouldn't they accept her?  It really didn't make any sense.  The only thing we could figure out was that she hadn't followed up on some doctor recommended follow up visits.  (She likes to avoid the doctor as much as possible, plus we didn't have insurance at the time.)

Needless to say we were a bit dejected for the rest of the day.  Driving home from work I remembered 1 Thes. 5:16-18 "Rejoice always. . . give thanks in every situation".  It wasn't an easy attitude adjustment, but I tried.  That evening we got online to look at other options.  We were a bit concerned since we didn't know why they hadn't accepted her or whether we would have trouble again.  We checked out a policy that ICC had rocommended.   They had an option to apply online, which we did, thinking it would be a few days. (The last company requested doctor records etc.) They said they would email us our acceptance packet.  When we were done we checked our email and it was already there!  They dont' do any health evaluations or anything.  So our last obstical is out of the way.  Now we just need tickets!  The place where we are working right now has offered to buy one of them for us! God is good!  I think we will be aiming for Feb. 4th.   Please continue to pray for us.
