Notes From Tanzania

Sunday Morning Feb. 24, 7:00 AM

Mosquitoes - 5

Reed - 5

I didn't sleep that well last night. I woke up around 1:00 and couldn't get back to sleep. I finally fell asleep and woke up around 6:45 or so. I think it was a combination of jet lag, mosquitoes, and my mind thinking about things. My throat is still sore this morning. I think I have been mimicking my translator and using a throaty voice when I speak. I hope I can use a diaphragm voice today, otherwise I am not going to make it for the week.

This morning I read Luke 12 a very encouraging chapter. Heavenly Father, this morning I want to thank You that not even one of the sparrows is forgotten before You. Lord how much more so then one of Your children created in Your image. Lord it says you even know the number of hairs on my head. Lord I praise You that the details of my life, even the minutest ones are important to You. Lord I praise You that Luke 12 also tells me that I am not to worry about what I will say beforehand, "because the Holy Spirit will teach [me] in that very hour what [I] ought to say".

Lord You are so good. You love us, You love to help us, it is your good pleasure to give us the kingdom. Lord may I seek it first today. May I seek your will and not my own. May my life be lived totally for You today. May I trust You for the details, may I trust You for the physical and emotional strength. May I trust You for the words. May I trust You to keep my voice strong.

Lord I praise You for Your loving kindness this morning. You truly love me. You are truly with me. I pray Lord for the Baptism of Your Holy Spirit today. I pray for Christ and His power, righteousness, wisdom, boldness, and self renouncing love to fill me today.

Lord I pray for Sauda Mshana, I pray for Helena, and Maria. Lord each of these women have come to me seeking prayer. Lord I cannot help them only You. They have struggles and pain. May they know by experience of Your wonderful love and care for them. May they cast their cares upon You because they have confidence that You care for them. Lord I pray that even more than seeking solutions and aid they were learned to seek You, to seek a relationship with You. May they realize that the very best thing that You have to offer us is Yourself. You are so good, so satisfying, You are the exceedingly great reward. Lord I pray that these three women would fall in love with You because of Your great love for them. May they be swooned by the matchless charms of Christ. Lord I pray this not just for them but for all those who are coming to the meetings. Lord may the decisions that they express, be real ones. May they choose You, choose to seek You. May they give themselves to You in response to Your love for them.

I pray Lord for guidance, for Your spirit, for Elijah and others who are working with those who will be baptized. Lord may these people be helped in this decision. May they know what they are committing to. May their hearts be prepared as the good soil. Help me Lord to know what I am to do in regards to this. Help me to ask the right questions and make the right suggestions. But I thank You Lord that ultimately the care of these souls belongs to You. May we faithfully do our part and then trust You for the rest. Lord I just want the fruit from all of this to be real to be genuine to be enduring. I want souls to be snatched from Satan's grasp, never to go back again. I want them to be forgiven and cleansed. I want them to enjoy a solid relationship with You, I want them to have the power of the Holy Spirit in their lives, I want them to be set free by the truth. I want them to become disciple makers. Oh Lord I know that You want this more than I do. Please send Your Spirit. Please work upon and change hearts, please keep the forces of Satan at bay. We are helpless on our own, so we turn to You Lord and plead for You to help us out of Your mercy.

Thank You Lord that we can trust You to keep Your promises, thank You that it is Your good pleasure to give each of these children Your kingdom. I pray for Your will, Your pleasure to be done on earth just as it is in heaven. In the wonderful Name of Jesus, Amen.
