reverse the comments?

I'm just wondering how everyone would feel if we reversed comment ordering. When a new visitor (me) visits the page and starts reading comments, one naturally thinks it is chronologically organized. But currently the most recent comments are at the top. With threaded comments this is confusing to me. And I prefer threaded comments. But I'm fine if everyone wants to keep it this way.

I'm fine with reversing the

I'm fine with reversing the default order of comments, but it should be noted that the user has full control of the comment display style.  You should have controls at the bottom of the page for switching between flat/threaded, adjusting ordering, and number of posts per page.  If you want to switch the defaults though, please do!  Set it to whatever you think is most natural.

One issue that may play into this decision, I notice that links to comments that appear on a different page will not be linked to properly.  So if my comment ends up on the second page of comments for the post, I'll go to the first page, instead of the second.  Might need to do some experimenting with this and see if it always happens.  then we can try to fix it.

use threaded-collapsed view

I also encourage folks to take advantage of the collapsed view... this can help sort out what's what on a heavily active post like the Revelation 1 study.

Organize bible studies better

Here's an idea to help organize the bible studies better:

Instead of creating a single thread for a chapter study, I'll create a forum category for the chapter, and then each question can be a separate post.  Responses to this question will be comments as usual.  This way we won't have hundered of comments to waid through all in one spot, and we'll have a nice way to overview the discussion.  All those in favor?  Opposed?
