What should NLD's mission statement be?

Any suggestions on what NLD's mission statement should be or how we should go about developing it?

Mission Statement

I found some thing I typed up a while ago while brainstorming about Paulington Studio. Pasted below:

--Produce and distribute quality recorded songs, sermons, stories, and other media that proclaims the love of God and salvation through Christ, promotes Christian values, and develops an appreciation for for family and a simple lifelstyle.
This media will be freely distributed and made available to anyone who “has ears to hear”. It may be reproduced and distributed as long as it is not sold for a profit.--

Also I found a flyer a made to give out at a concert.

--We have freely received the gift of Jesus. How can we charge money for a message that was given freely to us? These songs are the beginning of a ministry. No Less Days is a creative community that believes that the preaching of the gospel through music, writing, poetry, sermons, and other creative media should be distributed freely. They may be freely copied, and freely distributed. God is willing and able to provide the means to spread His truth. It is our responsibility to make it available.

Projects that are now underway include an audio book of Steps to Christ by Ellen White. Also, the songs you hear tonight are in the process of being recorded. When these recordings are completed they will be made available at no cost. You will be encouraged to make copies and give them away, freely.

If you resonate with this philosophy and feel that God has given you creative talents or other means that you would like to share, please talk to us.

A web site is under development where, in the future, this media can be accessed. When it is completed it will be found at www.nolessdays.org.--

I need to give some more thought to this stuff. This is what I was thinking about 10 months ago :o)

Pleas leave your comments.

Good material

I think you have material for an about page and for a mission statement. In regards to the free side of things, we need to concider how we will license material on this page. It might be worth concidering a single license for the entire site... good material for a separate thread.

Perhaps someone with knowledge of a formal mission statement process can guide us in breaking out the key elements. I'm trying to think of what I would add to what you've already created.

Well, a mission statement

Well, a mission statement should be concise and should be able to be easily memorized. I think that brainstorming is the first step. We need to get all of our ideas out there, and then work to condense it into one meaningful statement. There were a few things that we could definately work with from Adam's post, but I can't see it from here, so I'll have to post another one from that.

I like these ...

I like these two statements. This might be a good place to start ...

Produce and distribute quality recorded songs, sermons, stories, and other media that proclaims the love of God and salvation through Christ, promotes Christian values, and develops an appreciation for for family and a simple lifelstyle.

No Less Days is a creative community that believes that the preaching of the gospel through music, writing, poetry, sermons, and other creative media should be distributed freely.

Themes

These are the themes I think we want to capture:

  • The good news about Jesus
  • We desire to freely share what Christ has given us
  • We want to facilitate sharing by facilitating various forms of communication
  • We want to share in the context of community
  • All are welcome
  • Individual creativity to glorifies God

What else?
