Update on Jilin

We're making progress!!  This past Thursday and Friday Jilin and I spent four to five hours each day sitting and waiting and processing through the medical examination mandatory to sitting for a visa interview.  She received five immunizations in one day!!  She's shot up: two in each arm and one in a thigh.  I'm concerned because they wouldn't let me ask very many questions, and if you want a visa, you can't refuse the immunizations.  Anyway, that is behind us now.

Thursday, November 5 is the date of her visa interview.  Please pray for her on that day.  Lord willing, when we leave the office we should have the visa in hand, at which point we'll go immediately to a travel agent and book flights to the US for Christmas!!  Jilin is getting so excited.  The long delay has been good for building her excitement in going.  She is more excited than she is fearful of it at this point.  Once the visa is in hand, she'll be able to really relax and believe that this will be a reality in her life.  She's been disappointed so many times....

We are spending Sabbath and Sunday out of Manila.  This is Halloween weekend, and All-Saints Day - not days we enjoy being in the city.  it is nice to be out here with old friends and to just be able to relax in a more Western-style setting for a couple days.
