In my response to "Who made

In my response to "Who made the revelation known and how?" I assumed that John was passing the revelation to us, but he doesn't exactly say it like that.  In verse 2 John bare record of:

  • the word of God
  • the testimony of Jesus Christ, and
  • all things that [John] saw.

Which of these three is the revelation?  Is it all three?  Is it something else altogether?

I think it's all three

Since the revelation is "of Jesus Christ" (verse 1), I think that "the testimony of Jesus Christ" is the revelation.  But are the other two also the revelation?

Verse 19, where there is actual account of what John was told to share supports "all things that [John] saw" being part of the revelation, as this is specifically what the figure among the seven lampstands told him to "write."

I think that the first item above, "the word of God," is a superset of the other two, since God is the one who gave the revelation.

I think that verse two is a list of all the components of the revelation.
