The ways of God are more than mysterious sometimes...they are frustrating and confusing. You commit. You sacrifice. And you wait and wait. To me, our desire to go to India was God-given. The circumstances surrounding our decision to go there came together so nicely. Why would God want us to "waste" time here in Virginia when we could be helping orphans?

There has been confusion about the source of Israel's hardship as recorded in the old testament of the Bible.  I ran across this verse this morning, which seems helpful.

I have been very troubled by the state of Christianity in the US.  More specifically, I have been troubled by the support and instigation of violence that our "Christian" nation has perpetrated around the globe.  There is no excuse for the crimes that have been and continue to be committed in Christ's name.  There is no excuse for the church's support.

Just got news tonight that my grandfather is in ICU with bleeding in his brain...

Been looking around at Christian musicians.  They're all for sale -- at least if their any good.  It seems such a pitty.  I heard a fellow on NPR (don't remember who) saying that musicians need to look for money on tour rather than in records.  If this is true for the secular sector, and I think it is, why don't we Christians lead the pack by making our recorded material fre

Another update from my dad:

I just came from homeleave.  It wasn't all that great either.  I found out that my birth dad is again seeing my crack addict birth mom.  they are both against me now.

I have always had an activist nature. Ever since I wrote to George Bush, Sr., when I was eleven and asked him to uphold the constitution, I have had a sneaking suspicion that if I just shouted loud enough the world would listen. Do not ask me where this optimism came from; the subsequent tragedies and continued atrocities speak against this deep-seated knowledge.
