Mishaps in Spain no. 21

    Here I sit I can do no other. Quite literally. I suppose everyone already knew that I was sick, but I just got even sicker last night. I had a light fever and really bad chills, not to mention my throat burned every time I swallowed, my stomach ached and my mouth tasted nasty. In fact my mouth still tasts nasty.

    Crystalized silicon presses against my flattened nose as I peer out of the window of our speeding bus. I wonder to myself if I will be able to eat a kebab at the same kebab shop that I ate at when I was in Zaragoza last time. Its really the first big orchestra tour of the year. We are going to Zaragoza and Calahorra. Well, It did turn out to be a pretty good trip.

So the other day I get an all to familiar ad for tickle.com's scientific IQ test. Just for kicks, Somer and I had taken their test previously. Somer had scored higher than me, so I concluded that the results were reasonably accurate; but this time, seeing their ad, a sly idea popped into my head.

Hello again. I am typing this latest blog on Brett's computer because my computer doesn't have internet right now. I'm not sure why. Well I have only about two week left of school for this quarter. Kind of scary. I hate this time of year. Al the finals and all. Now I got it three time insteadof just twice.

I have just arrived back from out tour to Castilla la Mancha and Madrid. To be more specific, we first went to Toledo then Segovia, and lastly Madrid. Toledo was a really awesome city. It was quite small as far as cities go, but it was very castle-y. It is one of the oldest cities in Spain. Take a guess as to how old it is before reading on....

Supernovas and Caterpillars

Just read a National Geographic article about dying stars. When a star dies it implodes, the result is a supernova that is as bright as an entire galaxy. Once every second somewhere in the universe a star implodes. We have observed this through telescopes, the closest ones are hundreds of light years away.

Last night we watched a documentary on Islam. I was expecting the experts interviewed to give historical facts but to belittle religion in general. You know…something like, “Muhammad’s visions came as a result of his philosophical nature and his desire to infuse this life with meaning.
